Nestled within the iconic Taipei 101 tower, this remarkable addition not only brings the pinnacle of independent watchmaking to the heart of Taipei, but also marks a significant stride in Sincere’s strategic expansion into the region. With its prime location and dedication to showcasing the finest in independent watchmaking, SHH is poised to become a beacon of luxury and sophistication in Taipei’s thriving landscape.
To commemorate the grand opening, Sincere Fine Watches and Louis Moinet are delighted to share the addition of a meaningful variation of its Memoris collection. As a first for this collection, the Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition features a meteorite dial, elevating the latest reinterpretation of this chronograph.
On January 28, 2021, a meteorite streaked through the tranquil night sky of Sumatra, causing powerful supersonic detonations that rattled homes in the southern regions of the island. Named the “Legend of Punggur” by locals who perceive it as a cosmic blessing, this meteorite contains metallic inserts that enhance its allure – making it a subject befitting its noble name. With the Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition, the magnificent stellar rock takes center stage.
Seamlessly integrated into the watch, it serves as a striking backdrop for the dial. This horological masterpiece exemplifies a harmonious blend of modern design and technical prowess, boasting translucent subdials, vibrant red hands, and an amber-colored plate—all meticulously chosen to accentuate the mesmerizing pattern of the meteorite.
The Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition features a an exceptionally lightweight grade-5 titanium case that tips the scales at a mere 18 grams, and a domed sapphire crystal developed in-house that offers a glimpse of the unique mechanism within, which is comprised of over 300 components divided into two parts.
The automatic movement that powers the timepiece is located on the back of the watch, while the chronograph mechanism is positioned on the dial side. This arrangement allows users to visually experience each step of the chronograph function — start, stop, and reset to zero — all of which are activated by the press of a single monopusher button.
The Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition not only showcases technical advancements but also boasts striking stylistic features. To begin with, an intricately crafted sapphire crystal dome provides optimal space utilization within the case. The openworked lugs seamlessly blend with the strap, ensuring a cohesive design. Ergonomics are meticulously considered, featuring a single pusher for easy activation of the chronograph and a sleek crown protector for enhanced aerodynamics.
The flange – equipped with a dual scale enabling precise time measurements down to one-fifth of a second, cleverly sits beneath the sapphire crystal. Additionally, the small seconds counter as well as the 30-minute counter of the chronograph are translucent, offering a glimpse into the intricate mechanism below, further elevating the watch’s visual appeal.
The Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition marks a milestone in the Memoris collection as the first timepiece to showcase a meteorite dial, reflecting a pioneering spirit that pushes boundaries in experimentation and innovation.
Limited to just 12 pieces, the Louis Moinet Memoris Meteorite SHH Edition will be available at Sincere Fine Watches, #01-12 of Takashimaya S.C., and the SHH Boutique, #B2M-202 of The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, with a retail price of SGD $53,000 (including GST). Click here for more information.
