Singapore, October 2022 — LAURENT FERRIER has always drawn inspiration from the time-honoured traditions of Fine Watchmaking. Since the very beginning, the brand has been creating watches that do much more than just telling the time. Their watches also provide real, multisensory experiences. Through a new exclusive limited edition, LAURENT FERRIER has teamed up with Sincere Fine Watches to pay tribute to vintage timepieces and Fine Watchmaking. Both the Classic Origin SHH Edition and the Square Micro-Rotor SHH Edition have been created to celebrate the opening of Sincere’s new flagship boutique, Sincere Haute Horlogerie (SHH), located at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands.
A Vintage Dial
This original interpretation of the Square Micro-Rotor embodies a return to Art Deco codes. Unmistakably modern, this artistic style is based on a certain geometric rigour, minimalism and graphic stylisation. For the Square Micro-Rotor SHH Edition, LAURENT FERRIER is once again exploring the famous Breguet indices for this exclusive release. Developed by Abraham Louis Breguet himself, the Breguet Indices give a nod to tradition, whilst still maintaining exceptional readability. In this instance, the Breguet Indices are thoughtfully combined with a modern architectural hour circle decal, alongside the 18k white gold Arrow shaped hands that are filled with white SuperLuminova.
This 5-piece limited edition utilises a delicate green gradient opaline dial that is housed in a grade 5 titanium case. Beautifully enhancing the whole timepiece is a white decaled minute track that matches the hour circle and small second markers.
A Timeless Case
As its name suggests, the LAURENT FERRIER Square Micro-Rotor SHH Edition utilises the brand’s iconic Square case, which has withstood the test of time. Its contoured, symmetrical and aerodynamic curves demonstrate the Square case’s Art Deco character, while simultaneously showcasing the House’s streamlined aesthetic. With its 41 by 41 mm dimensions, the Square case is a bolder statement than the brand’s Classic case. Ensuring easy handling during winding is the ball-shaped crown, while the hooked case back allows users to admire the movement that is visible from the back and free from all forms of distraction. The movement can be accessed by watchmakers via the olivette, and water resistance is guaranteed to a depth of 30 metres. An Ingenious Movement Like the Mad Decade, when apparent simplicity and minimalism hid a great cultural and intellectual effervescence, this new dial conceals an exceptional complication, emblematic of the LAURENT FERRIER collection. Laurent’s love for exceptional, classic timepieces, combined with innovative and complex engines led him to kit out the Square Micro-Rotor with his famous FBN 229.01 calibre. A self-winding movement, the FBN 229.01 calibre is equipped with a natural escapement Micro-Rotor. This escapement stands out with a unidirectional pawl-fitted micro-rotor and a three-day power reserve. Designed, assembled and calibrated in the LAURENT FERRIER workshops, this exclusive movement is fitted with a silicon escapement featuring a double direct impulse on the balance. This innovation requires two escape wheels and an appropriately shaped lever. Developed by LAURENT FERRIER, it enables the balance to be impelled twice per oscillation. The modern construction of the FBN 229.01 calibre, combined with the use of cutting-edge materials, maximises energy efficiency. The mechanical force required to wind the barrel spring is reduced, thus optimising the winding of the movement. Only 5 Square Micro-Rotor SHH Edition timepieces will be available, with “LIMITED EDITION 1 of 5” engraved on each timepiece. The Laurent Ferrier Square Micro-Rotor SHH Edition will be available at unit #B2M-202 at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands from the 25th of October 2022 onwards, with a retail price of S$87,830 (including GST). |
