“Restoration
gave me the confidence I needed to pursue my watchmaking dreams.” Michel Parmigiani was born in 1950, in the Canton of Neuchâtel. Passionate about watchmaking, he studied at the Val-de-Travers school of watchmaking and at the Technicum in La Chaux-de-Fonds before specializing in watchmaking restoration. He opened his traditional watchmaking and restoration workshop in 1976. In 1996, Michel Parmigiani launched the Parmigiani Fleurier brand with the support of the Sandoz Family Foundation. |
In
1980, Michel Parmigiani had a decisive encounter with the Landolt family,
which owns one of the largest collections of pocket watches and automatons in
Switzerland, which he was tasked with restoring. This opportunity marked the
dawn of the House of Parmigiani Fleurier. He launched Parmigiani Fleurier in 1996. Rich in technical and artisanal know-how, the House is guided by the vision and quest for excellence of its founder, who gets involved in each of its creations. The Maison subsequently created its own manufacture where all the movements and their components are produced in-house. |
