LANG & HEYNE LAUNCHES THE SECOND EDITION OF THE 12-PIECE LIMITED GEORG SHH EDITION TO COMMEMORATE THE GRAND OPENING OF SHH PENDULUM

Sincere Watch Group is proud to announce the launch of SHH Pendulum – a new concept boutique helmed by its subsidiary Pendulum Ltd., at the prestigious Siam Paragon shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand.

SHH Pendulum, a continuation of a new retail concept pioneered last year by Sincere Fine Watches in Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, has been designed to elevate the high-end watch retail experience, introducing new elements to delight the visual, tactile, and emotional senses of our clients.

To commemorate the grand opening of SHH Pendulum in Thailand, Sincere Watch Group and Lang & Heyne are proud to announce today the launch of the Georg SHH Edition II.

Back in 2022, when Lang & Heyne launched the first Georg SHH Edition to commemorate the relaunch of SHH in Singapore, that SHH Edition proved to be a timepiece highly sought after by collectors. To celebrate their longstanding partnership, Lang & Heyne and Sincere Watch Group have embarked on a second collaborative effort. The two highly regarded horological players have launched today the second iteration of the award-winning Lang & Heyne Georg SHH Edition. Housed in an 18K Rose Gold case – like its predecessor – the Lang & Heyne Georg SHH Edition II leverages a unique ceramic dial that is set against a burgundy givree-finished silvered baseplate. The signature “One of 12” has once again been hand-engraved on the movement.

Finely finished golden wheels, levers and springs – the abstruse details of the Caliber VIII is on full display on the Lang & Heyne Georg SHH Edition II.

Renowned for its exclusivity and sophistication, Lang & Heyne focuses on no more than 100 watches each year. The passion that goes into crafting each timepiece is visible through the see-through caseback of the Lang & Heyne Georg SHH Edition II, with the abstruse details of the Georg’s

Caliber VIII – its finely finished golden wheels, levers, and springs – on full display. The bridges and cocks are made of stainless steel, accompanied by a domed top and a large, polished stone countersink to capture and reflect light from every angle. The different properties combined with the contrast of polished and matte surfaces, gives this movement an entrancing depth.

THE UNIQUE CERAMIC DIAL

The ceramic dials are made with pressure-resistant and low specific density characteristics, making them a more complex and durable material than enamel. Meanwhile, the main plate is givree sandblasted and colored in burgundy using the galvanic process. Combining the two was a carefully considered move by Lang & Heyne, and is a reflection of their design intention.

LANG & HEYNE GEORG SHH EDITION 3

The givree sandblasted main plate is colored in burgundy using the galvanic process, a carefully considered move by Lang & Heyne to give a shimmering finish.

To make the raw ceramic discs, they are first engraved, before being precisely cut with the use of a laser. Although time-consuming, this process ensures that the edges are as clean as possible to achieve a pristine finish. The fine engravings of up to 0.05mm in width are testaments to Lang & Heyne’s commitment to providing finishing of the highest standards.

The dials are made to fit precisely into the base plate’s corresponding recess by having the outer contours sanded. The use of high-quality “Berlac Print” ink by hand on the engraving allows various colors to be realized on the dial. They are then grinded and polished flat on a wooden disc to achieve a high gloss end product. The edges are also chamfered and polished, giving the dial a spotless, three-dimensional look.

LANG & HEYNE GEORG SHH EDITION 7

Sitting on two different levels, the main dial appears to be embracing the second dial, further adding layers to the face of the Georg SHH Edition II.

To further highlight the different layers found on the face of the watch, the two dials sit on separate levels – the second dial is further recessed than the main dial. For Lang & Heyne to achieve this, they had to utilise two individual ceramic discs instead of one. At only 0.4 mm thick, the second dial is glued in from the back with a high-strength two-component synthetic resin adhesive, whereas the main dial is glued into the carrier from the front. The end result of this seemingly subtle design element is that the second dial appearing to be partially embraced by the main dial, and is another example to the brand’s attention to detail.
